Democracy Support Group Sign Up to Provide Transportation for October 18th No Kings Rally

The Democracy Support Group would like to facilitate members' transportation to the No Kings Rally on October 18th.  The rally is from 2:00 - 4:00 at Central Park in Durham.  If you are able to drive to the rally and have room for other passengers, please indicate that by completing the highlighted Google Form link below: https://forms.gle/835GVCgdu5znQ2dg9   Once we know who can drive, we will send another message to everyone so that they can actually sign up to go.  We will ask drivers to contact their passengers to determine a pick-up time and place. Pleas e submit the Google Form  by Sunday, October 12th, so that we will have time to send the transportation options to all members so that rides can be arranged well in advance. If you have questions about this, please call Barbara Snyder at 919-818-0454.

October 15 Training for No Kings Rally on October 18

Here is a link for more information about No Kings Rally on October 18 at 2 pm at Durham’s Central Park. https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/845180/   While it is unlikely we would need this in Durham, there will be a virtual training that will give you the tools to take action safely, confidently, and with key de-escalation strategies in hand. Whether you're marching, rallying, or supporting from the sidelines, you'll learn how to protect yourself, your community, and stand up for your rights.  This training will   be provided on  October 15 at 7pm in English . Use the link below to sign up.   https://act.aclu.org/a/no-kings-kyr-eng2?emci=80ff77e1-ae9f-f011-8e61-6045bded8ba4&emdi=7fe5262b-c49f-f011-8e61-6045bded8ba4&ceid=3924030   Carpool organizing will be two separate announcements via Sign-up Genius. One to sign-up to drive and the second to pick your driver to get a ride.

Large Group Meeting October 6

We are having a large group (as opposed to an action group) meeting in Fassett Auditorium, Monday, October 6 at 6:45.  There are limited times when a large room is available, so we will see how this goes.   We will preview the website which will probably launch in 10 days, prepare for the No Kings Rally in Durham on October 18, and break into smaller groups to process all the craziness that has been going on recently. Bring a friend.  Hope to see you there. Cathy
